From 1975 through the present, Mr. Hentges rose through the ranks at Northwest Alloys, Inc., a subsidiary of Alcoa, a global leader in lightweight metals engineering and manufacturing. For the past 23 years, his focus has been largely on the production of ferrosilicon and magnesium metal for the world’s industrial markets. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985 from Eastern Washington State College.
As the founder and President of Epscan Industries, Ltd., Don brings Nevada Clean nearly four decades of proven experience providing major project construction and logistical services to the oil and gas, co-generation, mining, pulp, wood, and paper industries in Canada. More specifically, under Don’s leadership and utilizing the latest innovative technology in project management, welding fabrication, installation, instruction, commissioning, maintenance and programming, Epscan has provided comprehensive support and services relating to electrical installation, distribution and process instrumentation to its clients since 1978.
Mr. Ballain has over 35 years of experience in the Light Metals industry, working in production, research, and development of magnesium, aluminum, calcium metals, and related chemical products. For the past 16 years, he has owned and operated Ballain Consulting, Inc., a management consulting firm that advises domestic and international clients on light metals production, development, safety, and environmental operations. Marlyn also spent nearly 28 years working for Alcoa, the world’s leading producer of primary and fabricated aluminum, as well as the world’s largest miner of bauxite and refiner of alumina. He holds five patents and has co-authored four papers related to light metals production and development. In 1988, he received an award for his co-authored paper on “Extractive Metallurgy Technology” by The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society of The American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers. Marlyn received both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University.
Dr. Neelameggham is partner/owner of Ind LLC consulting on metal production and energy technology. As one of the original engineers when US Magnesium’s plant started up in 1972, Dr. Neelameggham has over forty years of Experience in the magnesium industry. He is recognized as a premier researcher and inventor/co-inventor in the magnesium field and holds 13 registered patents with over 14 papers and publications to his credit. He has several professional affiliations and is a permanent member of the Magnesium Committee of the Light Metals Division of the Metallurgical Society.
Ralph ‘Bud’ Carter
Mr. Carter has over 40 years of experience in the development and operations of Ferrosilica plants. He was project manager and engineer for Alcoa at the Addy magnesium plant from 1989 – 2000 and responsible for evaluating, operating parameters, environmental controls, and economic profitability. His previous employer for 20 years was Hanna Mining Company in Riddle, Oregon where he was the operations manager of the Ferrosilica plant and responsible for all activities at the mine and smelter where the high-quality product was produced.
Mr. Wakefield is President of WAI International, Inc. assisting clients in market development, project development and financing within the energy and pollution control industries. His current projects include industrial and small-medium scale Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle facilities (IGCC); innovative systems for coal-fired plants to improve efficiency and reduce emissions; industrial site redevelopment and application of bio-based lubricants.
He has over thirty-eight years in the electric power and process industries. His expertise encompasses independent power generation and electric utility equipment. This is combined with experience in systems supply, maintenance, operations, consulting and project development. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the energy and pollution control industries.
David served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Econo – Power International Corporation which he founded in 1990. This company identified and significantly upgraded coal gasification systems and separate sulfur removal systems to offer clean, economic and environmentally friendly syngas for power and industrial fuel. He co-holds patents and patents-pending for the combined system and various other patents on the use and application of air-blown gasification.
Since 1968 and before founding Silvertip Design in 2011, Britt has worked as a Project Engineer involved in mechanical engineering and design for companies operating within the Northwestern U.S. aluminum industry, including ARCO Metals, Columbia Falls Aluminum, Valco Aluminum Company, and A2Z Engineering. He is a graduate of LeTourneau College in Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Finn Nordmo
Dr. Nordmo, serves as ScanMag’s CTO and Project Manager, to Nevada Clean’s Technical Advisory Board. After earning a degree from the prestigious Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Technical Electrochemistry in Trondheim, Norway, Dr. Nordmo served as a key member of the aluminum manufacturing research and development team at SINTEF (The Foundation for Scientific and Industrial Research), the largest independent research organization in Scandinavia. Prior to ScanMag, he worked for Hydro Agri and Yara International, where he held positions as process engineer, production manager, and plant manager of two mineral fertilizer manufacturing facilities. After retiring from Yara International, he became President of Scan Crucible AS and has served as a senior industrial advisor to Meløy Næringsutvikling AS since 2008.
